Amid the hustle bustle that was last week’s fashion soiree, pocket friendly beauty brand Hard Candy also descended upon Toronto with an exclusive peek at its latest spring/summer collection. As a Canadian favourite, many fashionistas were lured away from the tents to gander at the Easter egg array of pastels (and snack on the obligatory Hard Candy candy bar!), but here I am to share some of the best products from the new lineup.
1. Walk the Line Eyeliner ($5.98)
The twinkle in my eye? It’s faux and you too can get it with a classic stripe of solid black, a subtle shimmering neutral, a burst of sparkling colour or an eye-catching electric shade. If that wasn’t enough the formula will last all day or all night (or even, ahem, both).
2. Single & Loving It Eyeshadow ($2.98)
This multi-colored, tie-dye, pressed eyeshadow provides a range of vibrant colours that can be used together to create daring looks or individual colour for more subtle results. A personal preference is the sunkissed brown “Sandy Beach” that invokes the tan-eye trend of Soia & Kyo’s fall collection.
3. 1,000 Lashes, Fiberized Lash Weave Mascara ($5.98)
My new favourite product and a real one-of-a-kind find! 1,000 Lashes is infused with volume building fibers that thicken, separate and lengthen lashes dramatically. The lash fibers adhere to your own eyelashes, acting like instant extensions to double down on volume. You can even buy it as the primer alone for use with any mascara of your choice.
4. So Baked Contour Trio ($8.98)
Illuminate, contour and highlight with So Baked Contour Trio for a healthy looking, captivating glow. The Baked Trio includes a luminizer for highlighting cheekbones, a stain finish blush for cheeks and a glowing bronzer that helps contour and define.
Other fabulous finds include the always-present in my handbag “All Glossed Up” lip stain in Red Minx, the Glamoflauge Heavy Duty concealer (with such epic coverage that it will even take care of tattoos) and the Top Ten Eyeshadow Palette in Naturally Gorgeous. These, along with the rest of the new lineup, can be found at Walmart and snapped up along with your weekly grocery list.
